Manchester City's Zack Steffen is ending a miserable spell at the club as he gears up to sign for Colorado Rapids.
The 28-year-old spent almost four seasons at the Etihad Stadium but has not featured since April 2022.
Steffen's error-strewn performance in the 3-2 FA Cup semi-final defeat by Liverpool signalled the end of his opportunities as Ederson's understudy.
The United States stopper made two Premier League appearances and another 20 in cup competitions before being usurped by Stefan Ortega.
Steffen is set for a return to MLS with the Rapids, with City having signed him from Columbus Crew for around £7million.
City loaned Steffen to Middlesbrough in the Championship the season after his display against Liverpool.
Steffen surprised schoolchildren in Ashton-under-Lyne outside Manchester last month, delivering Christmas gifts to more than 150 kids.
He was joined by former Columbus Crew teammate Alex Crognale for the festive initiative.
Together, Steffen and Birmingham Legion defender Crognale are co-founders of the VOYCENOW Foundation, which aims to help disadvantaged children through education, sports and 'healthy habits'.
The trip saw them provide signed soccer balls, American footballs, board games and speakers to the children.
The pair also posed for pictures with students and teachers on the trip, which was done alongside children's charity Power2.
