Palworld Surpassed 1 Million Concurrent Players & 3 Million Sales

Palworld, a game by Pocketpair that’s usually described as “Pokemon with guns”, has sold more than three million copies. What’s even cooler is that it now has over one million people playing it at the same time. This just shows how popular and successful the game has quickly become.

Palworld hit Steam Early Access on January 19th. This basically means that it managed to sell over three million units in just two days. That’s huge.

What’s also interesting to note is that Palworld is the 2nd game with the most concurrent players in the history of paid games on Steam. For those wondering, the first game is Cyberpunk 2077. However, the gap between CP2077 and Palworld is small. We’re talking about 50K players. So, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Palworld surpassing it in the coming days.

I mentioned it earlier, and it’s worth noting again: lots of people love playing Palworld on their computers. Think of Palworld as a mix of Valheim and Minecraft, but with Pokemon. Sadly, this is a multiplayer-only game. In other words, it doesn’t have a story campaign. This might disappoint some PC gamers. Still, it’s super cool to see how well the game is doing on PC.

Not only that but the game already performs well on PC. Since this is a multiplayer-only game, we won’t have a PC Performance Analysis. However, from what we’ve seen, the game runs well on a wide range of PC configurations. Pocketpair recommends an Intel i9-9900K with 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070. So, from the looks of it, you won’t need a high-end PC system.

Palworld is a game about living a slow life with mysterious creatures “Pal” or throwing yourself into life-and-death battles with poachers. Players can make Pals fight, breed, help with farming, or work in factories. Additionally, they can sell them off or even slaughter them to eat. The reason we often describe this game as “Pokemon with guns” is because Pal look exactly the same as Pokemon. In fact, some Pokemon fans got angry over this.

As the developers noted, the game’s core systems, such as monster catching, battles, exploration, building and crafting, are already complete. That’s what the players will be experiencing in its Early Access phase. The Early Access build will also have more than 100 monsters, a vast open world, over 350 items, and more than 70 types of buildings.

So, again, kudos to Pocketpair for releasing a game with such a massive appeal. And let’s hope that they’ll keep working on it after its huge success.

Stay tuned for more!
