£20m Tottenham player could now make loan exit to help Spurs win race for top target

Tottenham Hotspur defender Djed Spence could now make a loan move to Genoa as Spurs look to finalise a deal for Radu Dragusin.

HITC Football can confirm that Djed Spence has been offered to Genoa during Tottenham Hotspur’s talks to sign Radu Dragusin.

Spence is now left to decide whether to join Genoa on loan for the rest of the season after the Serie A side asked about his availability.

Spurs are happy to send Spence to Genoa in an effort to smooth over a deal for defender Dragusin.

Agreeing a fee for the Romanian hasn’t been easy but Spurs will look to tempt Genoa into a deal by sending Spence on loan.

Tottenham have made Dragusin their top January transfer target and sending Spence to Italy as a sweetener may help them win the race.

Tottenham accelerating Radu Dragusin move amid Bayern rumours

Spurs want another centre back as competition for Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven amid their injury problems in recent times.

Dragusin fits the bill but the 21-year-old has been attracting interest from other clubs.

HITC Football understands that Bayern Munich have made contact to try and sign Dragusin but their move hasn’t really progressed.

Tottenham remain confident of securing Dragusin’s signature but will be wary of being hijacked.

That may well have sparked Tottenham into life this morning with Spence now seemingly on the table in talks with Genoa as Spurs look to fend off Bayern.

Djed Spence has a lot to think about amid potential Tottenham exit

Spence joined Tottenham from Middlesbrough in a £20million deal back in 2022 after shining on loan at Nottingham Forest, but his time in North London has been difficult to say the least.

Spence played just five minutes of Premier League action before spending the second half of last season on loan at French side Rennes.

The 23-year-old then moved on to Leeds United over the summer but has only made five starts amid injury and selection problems at Elland Road.

Now back with Spurs again, Spence seems to be primed for another loan exit as long as he fancies a move to Italy.

Spence may feel that he needs to settle down but the absolute minimum is that he plays regular first-team football.

Genoa may be able to offer that and, given that this potential loan move is an addition to the Dragusin deal, Spurs shouldn’t have too many problems even if Spence says no.
